Welcome to the College of Humanities and Education at CYCU!
The German philosopher Immanuel Kant once summed up human rationality or philosophical investigation into three major questions: What can I know? What must I do? And what may I hope for? These three major questions respectively represent fields of Epistemology, Ethics and Axiology.
Judging from the founding philosophy of Chung Yuan Christian University, the educational philosophy of the College of Humanities and Education harmoniously resonates with the aforementioned three fields based on the fact that, through the love of Christ, every department, graduate school, program, and center in the College of Humanities and Education is established for the purpose of inspiring and guiding students to become intellectuals of ‘loving truth’, ‘valuing the harmony of group-self’, and ‘appreciating the essentiality of sustainability’.
The emphasis on the balance between “rationality-emotion”, “group-individual”, and “responsibility-value,” shapes the core value of CYCU’s holistic education. Therefore, as a member of the College of Humanities and Education, we must believe that we are so indispensably important in CYCU that we must do our best to glorify God and benefit others!
